– 略歴 –
ジャン　ディッキー、2009年にデラウェア大学卒、その後ハワイ大学マノア校の大学院を2017年に卒業。さまざな州で展示を行い、過去にKimmel Harding Nelson Arts Centerとthe Vermont Studio Center、Wildacres Residency Programなどでレジデンスアーティストとして活動。過去2年間水彩画の研究をHonolulu Community CollegeとKapiʻolani Community College、Honolulu Museum of Art Schoolにて行う。いきた素材としてペイントを行う彼は牛乳、卵、アラビアゴム、ウサギの皮のような天然の物質を利用する。時間を経て起きるひび割れ、剥がれなどを作品の一部として表現する。

– Biography –
Jan Dickey received an MFA from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa in 2017 and a BFA from the University of Delaware in 2009. He has exhibited throughout the United States and has been a resident artist at the Kimmel Harding Nelson Arts Center, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Wildacres Residency Program. For the past two years, he has instructed water-based painting in Hawaiʻi at Honolulu Community College, Kapiʻolani Community College, and the Honolulu Museum of Art School. Jan’s paintings utilize natural substances like milk, eggs, gum arabic, and rabbit-skin glue. He explores paint as a living substance – creating artworks that peel, crack, and otherwise change over time.
