テス・マーティンは私達に指し示られる事実性や真実というものがタイムベースド•メディアを通した時にどのように反映され、認識されていくかということを実跡し、専念している。
ひとフレーム毎にドローイング、ペインティングや風景を塑像し操る事、すなわち、フィルムとアート、アニメーション、説話と実験という物事の間にある境目をぼやかす手細工的な経験を軸から彼女の試みは出発している。人と自然界の関係、コミュニケーション、精神状態や知覚ということが彼女の作品テーマとなっている。

– Biography –
In my practice I am preoccupied with how time-based media can make us reflect and learn truths about ourselves. I attempt to do this by drawing, painting or sculpting scenes and manipulating them one frame at a time: hand-crafting experiences that blur the boundary between experimental and narrative, and animation, film and art. Themes of my work are perception, mental states, communication and our relationship with the natural world.
